What We Do:
The Winter lab is developing micro- and nanoscale technologies that directly
interact with nerve cells. At the cellular level, we are applying tissue-engineering
concepts to neural prosthetic devices to create biocompatible surfaces that
enhance prosthesis function. At the subcellular level, we are creating nanoprobes
that can enter a neuron and directly manipulate its subcellular features, allowing
researchers unprecedented control of neural activity.
