Lowrie Naming Event

On Friday, February 6, 2009, a dedication ceremony was held in honor of the renaming of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering to the William G. Lowrie Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. William G. Lowrie, and his wife, Ernestine, donated $17 million to support the department. It was the sixth-largest personal gift to Ohio State.

The day's activities included an unveiling of the new Koffolt Laboraty building sign, a lunch with faculty and staff, and an afternoon dedication ceremony and reception. Speakers at the ceremony included Department Chair Stuart Cooper, Dean Gregory Washington, Bill Lowrie, and senior undergraduate student Carol Udoh.
