Excellent Teachers and ample facilities provide a wealth of resources for the graduate student. With the ability to choose from an array of research opportunities from bioengineering  to process systems engineering, students will find an area of study suitable to their interests.  The large numbers of research areas are made possible by the quality of faculty as well as the number of graduate students, currently 103. The department received the University Distinguished Department Teaching Award in 1997.
