In the US, the governmaent does not pay for health care.
Beginning Autum 2003, all international students are required to purchase OSU Student Health Insurance. Specifically, international students will be defaulted into the Comprehensive Plan. International students will not be provided the option to purchase the Medical Only Plan. All family members must also have health insurance.
International students who are covered under a government sponsor, select international organization, or as a dependent of a US-based employee, may qualify for an Exemption from Coverage.
For domestic students (US citizens), health coverage is optional, though encouraged.
