University Financial
Aid
Financial aid is intended to help
students finance their education when family and personal
resources are not adequate to meet the total educational
costs. Financial aid consists of scholarships and grants,
loans (which must be repaid), and part-time employment.
The university makes every effort within its means to help
students with limited financial resources secure the
needed funds.
Early and realistic financial
planning is essential to ensure that students have
adequate resources to be able to attend Ohio State and
take advantage of the many experiences that the university
offers. The Office of Student Financial Aid helps students
and their families on all campuses plan for financing a
college education. Please visit
http://sfa.osu.edu/ for more information regarding
financial aid at the university, including general
information, downloadable forms and checklists and
listings of university scholarships.

College of
Engineering Scholarships
The College has two distinct goals to
accomplish with engineering scholarship programs -
recruitment and retention. The College allots only about
10% of our scholarship budget to recruit New First Quarter
Freshmen (NFQF). The remaining 90% is focused on retention
and awarded to enrolled students based on their academic
performance at OSU. For the 2002-03 academic year the
College of Engineering and the individual engineering
departments combined, awarded approximately 1200
engineering scholarships worth nearly $1,400,000 to
undergraduate students.
For a listing of scholarships
available at the college level please visit :

For additional information about engineering scholarship
programs, please contact David E. Donley, College of
Engineering Scholarship Coordinator (122 Hitchcock Hall,

Department of Chemical Engineering Financial Aid
Another source of financial aid is
through departmental scholarships. Students already in
the Chemical Engineering major or intending to major in
Chemical Engineering the following academic year may apply
for departmental scholarships. Students use the same
form
to apply for departmental scholarships that they completed
for university and college scholarships. The department
will receive one of the two copies that the student has
provided to the college office. Click
here to
access a listing of departmental scholarships awarded in
the 2003-2004 academic year and the criteria for each. |
